We are looking for an Application Support Engineer to support business-critical applications in the insurance sector. This hybrid opportunity is based in the Lisbon area, with regular on-site collaboration in Moscavide.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Support business users by managing incidents, service requests and information inquiries.
- Analyze production issues, coordinate fixes and contribute to resolution within agreed service levels.
- Troubleshoot application and infrastructure-related incidents in collaboration with network, infrastructure and other IT teams.
- Communicate clearly with business stakeholders during major incidents and critical service situations.
- Automate deployment and configuration activities to improve efficiency, consistency and reliability.
- Perform application parametrization, installation and validation in UAT environments.
- Coordinate application parametrization and installation activities for preproduction and production environments.
- Support the analysis of new business requirements and assess change request impacts with technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to infrastructure lifecycle activities, including disaster recovery tests, backup restore exercises and certificate renewals.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate application changes and operational updates.
- Support compliance with security, control and data privacy requirements.
- Contribute to operational reporting, business meetings, capacity planning and infrastructure cost optimization activities.
- Provide planned support during critical periods, including occasional weekend coverage up to twice per year.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in application support, application maintenance or IT operations.
- Experience supporting IaaS-based applications in production and non-production environments.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
- Ability to coordinate with technical teams and business users in incident, change and release contexts.
- Structured, responsible and solution-oriented approach to troubleshooting and service continuity.
- Availability for a hybrid work model in the Lisbon area, with on-site presence in Moscavide twice per week.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Application configuration, installation and parametrization.
- Java or C# development experience.
- Azure cloud frameworks and IaaS application environments.
- Shell scripting.
- SQL Server and MongoDB databases.
- Security constraints and secure development and deployment practices.
- Incident management, change impact analysis and production support.
- Deployment automation and configuration management.
- Test planning and validation of technical changes.
- Capacity management and infrastructure cost optimization practices.
NICE TO HAVE
- CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
COMPENSATION TRANSPARENCY
Base salary range: EUR 15 000 - EUR 18 000 gross/year
Total compensation: up to EUR 23 000/year
The salary range is based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, including required competencies, professional experience, level of responsibility and role requirements. Final compensation will be determined according to the candidate's profile and position requirements.
