Job summary

Wire IT in Portugal is seeking an AI Tech Lead to drive design, development and deployment of cutting-edge AI solutions. This remote role supports a Portuguese-based client base with occasional visits to Venda do Pinheiro.

You will lead a senior team, translate business problems into scalable AI architectures, and collaborate across product, engineering and data science to deliver production-ready systems on cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a similar role with AI/ML focus.
• Degree in CS/SE/AI or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to lead complex AI/software solutions end-to-end.
• Experience with cloud-based AI services and modern DevOps practices.
• Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and deployment of AI/ML solutions.
• Mentor and drive a senior technical team across products.

Role: AI Tech Lead

Location: Remote, Portugal (With occasional visits toVenda do Pinheiro)

Required skills:

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Strong professional experience in software engineering, AI engineering, machine learning or AI solution development
• Proven ability to technically lead complex AI or software solutions from design through production
• Strong understanding of modern AI technologies and development approaches, including Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, AI agents, machine learning and related frameworks
• Strong software engineering background and proficiency with modern development practices
• Experience designing and implementing scalable, production-ready solutions
• Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-based AI services, preferably Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud
• Good understanding of APIs, system integration, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring and DevOps/MLOps practices
• Ability to translate business problems and requirements into appropriate technical solutions
