Wire IT, based in Portugal, seeks an AI Engineer (GenAI & Agentic AI) to join a senior team driving AI-enabled solutions. The position is remote from Portugal, with strong emphasis on practical, production-grade AI systems, APIs, data pipelines, and enterprise integration.

The candidate will translate ambiguous business needs into robust technical implementations and contribute to a growing international company.

Qualifications

• Strong Python and SQL software engineering experience.
• Experience building Generative AI applications, assistants, or AI agents.
• Experience with Azure AI services or comparable platforms.
• Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, context engineering, tool calling, evaluation and orchestration.

Role: AI Engineer (GenAI & Agentic AI)

Location:Portugal (Remote)

Required skills:

• Strong software engineering skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience building Generative AI applications, assistants, AI agents, or AI-enabled workflow automation solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Azure AI services, Azure AI Foundry, or comparable AI platforms.
• Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, context engineering, tool calling, evaluation, and orchestration.
• Knowledge of responsible production operation of AI systems.
• Experience working with APIs, cloud-native services, data pipelines, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Familiarity with GenAI software engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or OpenCode.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into practical technical solutions.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Microsoft Agent Framework, LangChain, MCP, or comparable agent frameworks.
• Experience building agentic workflows, dashboards, or user-facing AI applications.
• Experience with Snowflake, vector databases, observability tooling, or LLM gateway patterns.
