Job summary

Wire IT, based in Portugal, is seeking a senior software/data engineer to join a high‑caliber team and build AI systems in production on international projects. This remote role requires extensive experience with agent orchestration, MCP, SQL/data modelling, cloud services and secure distributed systems, plus strong Python, testing, CI/CD, REST and Docker.

Location:

Remote, Portugal

Required skills:

• 7+ years of experience in software or data engineering, with recent hands-on experience building AI systems in production;
• Hands-on experience building agentic systems: agent orchestration frameworks, Model Context Protocol (MCP), complex function calling, structured outputs and evaluation systems;
• Strong SQL and data modelling skills, ensuring AI agents interact with enterprise data stores efficiently and accurately;
• Solid experience with cloud architectures and cloud AI services;
• Practical understanding of enterprise security in distributed and agentic systems: identity propagation, fine-grained RBAC, IAM and policy enforcement;
• Strong production software engineering: Python, testing, CI/CD, REST and Docker;
• Fluency in English.
