Job summary

Sword is seeking a Lead Growth Engineer to build and lead the technical engine driving member acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization for our D2C model. You will partner with Product, Design, Data, and Marketing to craft scalable growth architectures and rapid experimentation cycles.

You will oversee a high-velocity engineering team, implement robust instrumentation, and embed AI tools across workflows while maintaining security and reliability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and operating production services at scale with TypeScript.
• Experience leading growth engineering teams in high-growth environments.
• Expertise in experimentation engines, feature flags, event telemetry, and full-funnel analytics.
• Strong business sense with CAC, LTV, activation velocity, conversion, and cohort retention.
• Solid foundations in API design, relational databases, data modeling, asynchronous processing, and automated testing.
• Ability to translate commercial goals into pragmatic technical solutions while balancing speed and durability.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership across executives and technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated AI proficiency at Builder (Level 2) or Integrator (Level 3).
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and mentor a growth engineering team with strong execution velocity, testing rigor, and code quality.
• Architect, scale, and maintain experimentation infrastructure including feature flags and cohort targeting.
• Drive full-funnel engineering initiatives across web and mobile to optimize acquisition, onboarding, conversions, and retention.
• Implement robust event instrumentation and data pipelines with Data Science for accurate attribution and telemetry.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Marketing to translate business goals into technical roadmaps.
• Foster data-informed decision making and rapid iteration while balancing speed and long-term architecture.
• Ensure system performance, data consistency, and failure recovery across critical growth moments.
• Lead AI tool integrations within engineering workflows, ensuring security and maintainability.
