Senior Backend Developer (Java/Kotlin)
Job summary
A leading financial institution in Poland is seeking an Engineer IV to develop and maintain backend services for the Gaia web application. The role requires strong experience in Java and/or Kotlin, familiarity with Spring Boot, and understanding of agile methodologies. You will collaborate closely with frontend developers and participate in agile ceremonies. The position offers a dynamic working environment within a large international team that values innovation and trust.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in Java and/or Kotlin.
- Familiarity with Spring Boot and object-oriented design.
- Basic knowledge of frontend technologies like React or WebComponents.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services for the Gaia web application.
- Design APIs and microservices using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure smooth integration.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and DevOps practices.
- Contribute to service design, strategy, and availability.
Skills
Tools
- You have strong experience in Java and/or Kotlin.
- You're familiar with Spring Boot and object-oriented design.
- You understand relational databases (MS-SQL is a plus).
- You have experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps).
- You're comfortable working in agile teams and DevOps environments.
- You have basic knowledge of frontend technologies like React or WebComponents.
- Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native deployments.
- Familiarity with frontend testing tools (e.g., Cypress, Vitest).
- Understanding of UI/UX principles.
- Exposure to frontend frameworks and willingness to collaborate on UI integration.
- Experience with containerization and DTAP environments.
- Develop and maintain backend services for the Gaia web application.
