Job summary

Sii Poland in Poznań seeks a data scientist to turn ambiguous business questions into deployable models and analyses. You will frame problems, wrangle data, and build and validate models while explaining results to non-Python users.

You will work with Python data stack (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) and modern platforms like Microsoft Fabric and Palantir Foundry, deploying analytics on cloud platforms. This role offers variety across AI applications and collaboration with enterprise data teams.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years in data science or applied analytics with proven models and analyses.
• Strong Python skills across the standard data stack (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
• Solid statistical foundations: hypothesis testing, regression, experimental design.
• Knowledge of at least one cloud/data platform and its data science components (Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks, Palantir).
• Ability to communicate analytically to business stakeholders and influence decisions with data.
• Autonomous work style with collaborative skills across data engineers, architects, and product teams.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
• Fluent Polish required; residing in Poland.
• Residing in Poland required.

Responsibilities

• Translate business problems into analytical solutions: define hypotheses, metrics, and modeling approaches.
• Explore, clean, and prepare data using Python (pandas, NumPy) across varied sources.
• Build, validate, and tune models for classification, regression, forecasting, segmentation, and recommendations (scikit-learn, XGBoost, statsmodels).
• Design and analyze experiments: A/B tests, hypothesis testing, and causal analysis.
• Work with Microsoft Fabric and Palantir Foundry for pipelines, lakehouses, and workflows.
• Communicate findings with clear visualizations and narratives for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with data engineers and ML/AI engineers to move models from notebook to production.
• Monitor deployed models for drift and retraining cycles.
