You will manage the fleet, coordinate delivery schedules, and ensure safe, compliant, and efficient movement of goods. The role requires 5+ years in transport management or logistics coordination, strong knowledge of regulations, budgeting experience, and proficiency with transport management software.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate transport schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.

• Monitor driver performance, conduct training, and ensure adherence to safety regulations.

Job description

This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing and optimising our transport and logistics operations. As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for managing our fleet, coordinating delivery schedules, and ensuring efficient movement of goods whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance. This role is integral to our supply chain operations and directly impacts our ability to serve our customers effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate transport schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods
• Oversee fleet management, including vehicle maintenance, fuel management, and vehicle tracking systems
• Monitor driver performance, conduct training, and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations
• Manage transport budgets, analyse costs, and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency
• Liaise with customers, warehouse staff, and logistics partners to coordinate shipments and resolve issues
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations, including vehicle roadworthiness and driver documentation
• Implement and maintain transport policies and procedures to optimise safety and performance

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years' experience in transport management or logistics coordination in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of transport regulations, fleet management, and supply chain operations
• Proven experience in managing budgets, cost control, and operational efficiency improvements
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
• Proficiency in transport management software and fleet tracking systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage teams and external stakeholders
• Problem-solving ability and decision-making skills under pressure
• Valid driver's licence and knowledge of vehicle maintenance requirements
• Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics processes is highly desirable
• IT literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
