About the role
The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for leading and executing the company's sales strategy to achieve revenue growth, expand market share, and strengthen customer relationships. This role oversees sales teams, develops key accounts, drives business development initiatives, and collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to meet organizational objectives.
Assist in ensuring monthly sales targets, profitability goals, and customer satisfaction standards are consistently achieved.
Key responsibilities
Sales Leadership
- Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with business objectives.
- Set individual and team sales goals and monitor performance against targets.
- Conduct regular sales reviews, pipeline assessments, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability and results.
- Ensure that monthly sales quota is met.
Business Development
- Identify new business opportunities and market expansion strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
- Negotiate complex contracts, pricing agreements, and commercial terms.
- Drive customer retention and growth initiatives.
- Develop strategic partnerships to increase revenue opportunities.
Account Management
- Manage and grow major customer accounts.
- Serve as the executive point of contact for strategic customers.
- Ensure customer needs are understood and addressed effectively.
- Resolve escalated customer issues in collaboration with internal teams.
Sales Planning & Forecasting
- Develop accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and territory plans.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.
- Analyze sales performance data to identify opportunities and risks.
- Provide regular reports and business insights to senior leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, finance, and customer service teams.
- Support product launches and promotional campaigns.
- Collaborate on pricing strategies and sales enablement initiatives.
- Ensure alignment between sales objectives and operational capabilities.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Sales, Management, or a related field.
- MBA or equivalent advanced qualification is a plus.
- At least 8 years sales experience with 2-3 years in a managerial role.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Experience managing key accounts and leading high-performing sales teams.
