Job summary

Manulife, a leading international financial services provider, seeks an experienced Employee Relations Consultant in the Philippines to advise leaders and support disciplinary processes, while minimizing legal risk.

You will lead ER projects, train management, collaborate with HR and Legal, and develop policies. This role requires autonomy, a strong ER background, and the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of in-depth experience in Philippine Employee Relations, Labor Relations or Industrial Relations in the insurance, BPO or Finance industry.
• Bachelor’s degree preferably Political Science, Legal Management or other courses in the field of Law.
• Skilled in managing conflict among employees through mediation or negotiations as well as facilitating arbitration.
• Working knowledge on PH labor laws related termination process.
• Knowledge in the finance and insurance industry including related regulatory requirements and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Investigate complaints and resolve employee relations issues promptly.
• Counsel and train management on performance and discipline; develop and deliver training related to employee relations.
• Develop strong relationships and act as liaison between HR, Legal, and business areas on ER issues.
• Design and develop communications related to employee policies and programs.
• Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.
• Lead and administer severance actions in supported business areas.
• Capture and utilize ER data and metrics in the ER case management system (Salesforce); analyze trends and recommend changes.
• Take the lead on complex ER projects; conduct research, analyze data and prepare recommendations.
• Act as an expert on ER trends by maintaining a network of industry contacts.
• Mentor and assist in developing more junior members of Employee Relations.
• Other duties as assigned
