Job summary

Hunt St Pty Ltd seeks a Philippines-based Engineering Assistant to support Australian residential projects remotely. You will prepare structural inspection reports, draft drawings in AutoCAD, and assist with project coordination, invoicing, and workflow management as an independent contractor.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in structural engineering or technical operations/drafting in Australian residential sector.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and structural drawing interpretation.
• Strong knowledge of Australian building codes and standards.
• Experience with Xero and project management tools (Monday.com, Asana, WorkflowMax).
• Ability to work independently in a remote setup and manage digital workflows.

Responsibilities

• Prepare structural inspection reports (pier, reinforcement, framing, pre-purchase, as-built).
• Produce concept markups and structural drawings for new builds/extensions.
• Draft and update structural docs using AutoCAD and templates.
• Conduct design checks on timber, steel, concrete elements for adequacy.
• Prepare and document engineering calculations to support design decisions.
• Set up and manage jobs in internal systems.
• Process invoicing and record payments using Xero.
• Monitor job progress and liaise with engineers for timely completion.
• Assist in preparing project scopes and quotations from drawings.
• Support workflow improvements and automation opportunities.
• Develop templates and onboarding docs to boost efficiency.
