Job summary

OurAssistants is seeking a Property Management Accountant to support US-based clients from a remote home-based setup. The role emphasizes property accounting, rent ledgers, reconciliations, and reliable financial reporting using AppFolio and QuickBooks.

The candidate should have strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently with deadlines in a fully remote environment. CPA or US accounting certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in property management accounting.
• Strong proficiency in AppFolio and QuickBooks.
• Knowledge of rent ledgers, reconciliations, AP/AR, and property financial reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
• CPA or US Accounting Certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage rent ledgers, tenant payments, and account reconciliations.
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions.
• Prepare monthly financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and P&L reports.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow tracking.
• Maintain compliance with US property management accounting standards and procedures.
• Review financial variances and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate with property managers to support monthly and year-end closing tasks.
• Maintain digital financial files and ensure documentation accuracy.
