Go Lean Health is seeking a Virtual Medical Assistant to support a US ophthalmology practice remotely. You will handle front desk communication, scheduling workflows, patient requests, and insurance-related support with a patient-focused approach.

The role is part-time (30 hours/week) with ET schedule, requiring reliable internet and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset to ensure timely responses and accurate documentation across Practice Plus / Nextech and Reach UC.

Qualifications

• 1+ year US healthcare administrative experience in a patient-facing role.
• Experience handling patient phone calls, scheduling, and voicemail follow-up.
• Experience verifying insurance benefits, copays, deductibles, or patient responsibility.
• Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
• Reliable internet, computer, headset, and backup resources.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound patient calls professionally and return missed calls or voicemails promptly.
• Gather patient information and determine the appropriate next action.
• Escalate urgent or clinical concerns appropriately with a courteous phone presence.
