Job summary

SnappyCX is seeking an experienced Medical Billing & AR Virtual Assistant to support ophthalmology billing operations. You will handle insurance claims, denials, and AR, while using Athena EMR/EHR to manage patient records and billing activities.

The role requires 2+ years of claim/AR experience in ophthalmology, strong knowledge of billing processes, and excellent communication. This is a remote position with independent work capabilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience handling insurance claims, denials, and AR in an ophthalmology practice.
• Hands-on experience using Athena EMR/EHR.
• Strong understanding of medical billing processes and insurance follow-up.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle insurance claims, denials, and AR processes.
• Follow up on unpaid, rejected, or denied claims with insurance providers.
• Work within Athena EMR/EHR to manage billing activities and patient records
• Maintain accurate billing documentation and ensure records are up to date
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and reimbursement issues
