Job summary

SnappyCX, Inc. is seeking an experienced Medical Billing & AR Virtual Assistant to support billing operations for a comprehensive ophthalmology practice. The ideal candidate will manage insurance claims, denials, and Accounts Receivable (AR) within Athena EMR/EHR, ensuring accurate and timely recordings of patient billing.

This role requires at least two years of relevant experience, strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience handling insurance claims, denials, and AR within a comprehensive ophthalmology practice.
• Hands-on experience using Athena EMR/EHR
• Strong understanding of medical billing processes and insurance follow-up
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Responsibilities

• Handle insurance claims, denials, and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
• Follow up on unpaid, rejected, or denied claims with insurance providers
• Work within Athena EMR/EHR to manage billing activities and patient records
• Maintain accurate billing documentation and ensure records are up to date
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and reimbursement issues
