Job summary

Snapscale is seeking a skilled Medical Virtual Assistant with Ophthalmology experience to support a US-based Ophthalmology clinic in an onsite setup. The role focuses on insurance verification, prior authorization processing, patient scheduling, and EMR management to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Qualifications

• Experience working with a US-based Ophthalmology clinic or physician
• Hands-on experience with insurance verification and prior authorization processing
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems, patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and inbound call handling
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Responsibilities

• Verify vision and medical insurance eligibility, benefits, copays, deductibles and coverage limitations
• Process insurance verification and initiate prior authorization requests as required
• Contact insurance carriers to resolve eligibility discrepancies and document verification details in the practice management system
• Answer inbound calls and assist patients with scheduling, rescheduling, appointment confirmations, reminders and inquiries
• Manage patient records and maintain accurate documentation using EMR/EHR systems
• Coordinate with clinic staff regarding insurance issues, same-day verification requests and scheduling exceptions
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain accurate patient and insurance documentation at all times
