Qualifications

• Minimum of 1.5 years of experience as a Virtual Medical Assistant supporting US-based healthcare practices.
• Proven experience handling high-volume patient calls in a medical setting.
• Strong experience scheduling patients and navigating complex provider calendars.
• Excellent spoken and written English, with clear pronunciation and strong listening comprehension.
• Experience using Nextech EMR is strongly preferred. Candidates with extensive experience using other medical EMR systems may also be considered.
• HIPAA certification and a strong understanding of patient confidentiality requirements.
• Ability to navigate scheduling systems, manage incoming inquiries, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming patient calls promptly, professionally, and courteously.
• Manage a consistently high volume of inbound calls while maintaining efficiency and service quality.
• Schedule, reschedule, and manage patient appointments using the practice's EMR system.
• Navigate complex physician schedules involving multiple providers, clinic locations, and surgical commitments.
• Confirm the correct physician and clinic location before creating or modifying appointments.
• Route cataract surgery inquiries to the surgery coordinator and escalate as needed.
