Job summary

Go Lean Health is seeking a Virtual Medical Assistant to support a busy ophthalmology practice in the United States. The role focuses on inbound calls, appointment scheduling, and call routing, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and patient service.

The position is remote, part-time (35 hours/week) with US Eastern Time schedule. Candidates should have at least 1.5 years of experience, excellent English, HIPAA knowledge, and Nextech EMR experience.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years as Virtual Medical Assistant for US-based practices.
• Experience handling high-volume patient calls in a medical setting.
• Scheduling experience across multiple physicians' calendars.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• HIPAA certification and patient confidentiality knowledge.
• Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound patient calls promptly and professionally.
• Schedule, reschedule, and manage appointments using the EMR.
• Navigate complex physician calendars across multiple locations.
• Assess inquiries and route to the appropriate department.
• Escalate non-core issues to the appropriate personnel.
