Job summary

Go Lean Health is seeking a Virtual Medical Assistant to support a busy ophthalmology practice in the United States. This remote, part-time position focuses on inbound calls, appointment scheduling, and call routing, with a 35-hour workweek and a rate of $5.5 per hour plus a performance review after six months.

The ideal candidate has experience in high-volume medical call handling, strong English communication, and proficiency with Nextech EMR or similar systems.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years as Virtual Medical Assistant supporting US healthcare practices.
• Experience handling high-volume patient calls in a medical setting.
• Strong scheduling skills and navigating complex provider calendars.
• Excellent spoken and written English with clear pronunciation.
• HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality awareness.
• Experience with Nextech EMR strongly preferred. Military or other EMR experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound patient calls promptly, professionally, and courteously.
• Schedule, reschedule, and manage patient appointments using EMR.
• Route inquiries to appropriate departments and escalate when needed.
• Maintain accuracy and minimize call handling time while ensuring patient satisfaction.
