Job summary

Go Lean Health is seeking a Virtual Medical Assistant to support a US ophthalmology practice remotely. Responsibilities include handling inbound calls, scheduling appointments, and routing inquiries with HIPAA-compliant care and excellent English communication.

You will work 35 hours weekly on US Eastern Time, focusing on high-volume call handling and accurate calendar navigation. Prior Nextech EMR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1.5 years as Virtual Medical Assistant for US-based practices.
• Proven experience handling high-volume patient calls in a medical setting.
• Strong scheduling skills and navigating complex provider calendars.
• Excellent spoken and written English with clear pronunciation.
• HIPAA certification and patient confidentiality knowledge.
• Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision and high productivity.
• Experience with Nextech EMR strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound patient calls promptly and professionally.
• Schedule, reschedule, and manage appointments using the EMR.
• Route calls to appropriate departments; triage and escalate as needed.
• Assist with call routing for billing, prescriptions, and surgery inquiries.
