Go Lean Health is seeking a Virtual Medical Assistant to support a busy ophthalmology practice in the United States. The role focuses on inbound calls, appointment scheduling, and call routing with high emphasis on accuracy and patient satisfaction.

Candidates must have 1.5+ years of US-based telehealth experience, strong English skills, and familiarity with ophthalmology workflows. This is a remote position with a 35-hour workweek aligned to US Eastern Time.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1.5 years as a Virtual Medical Assistant supporting US healthcare practices.
• Experience handling high-volume patient calls in a medical setting.
• Experience scheduling patients and navigating complex provider calendars.
• Excellent spoken and written English with clear pronunciation.
• HIPAA certification and patient confidentiality knowledge.
• Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision.
• Nextech EMR experience strongly preferred; other EMR systems considered.

Responsabilités

• Handle inbound patient calls promptly, professionally, and courteously.
• Schedule, reschedule, and manage patient appointments using the EMR.
• Assess inquiries and route to appropriate department; transfer when needed.
• Direct billing inquiries to the billing department and escalations as required.
• Route ophthalmology inquiries to the surgery coordinator and support staff.
