Job summary

MAVI seeks an experienced Accounting Team Lead to run the day-to-day accounting for US-based client companies, working remotely from Mexico. You will lead a small team of accountants and bookkeepers, manage the close, prepare US GAAP financial statements, and serve as first-line reviewer.

This player-coach role requires deep knowledge of ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 718, and multi-entity consolidation, with ERP experience (NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct) and strong English communication with

Qualifications

6–8+ years of progressive accounting experience including review of others' work
Ownership of a full close cycle end to end
Strong working knowledge of US GAAP including ASC 606; ASC 842 and ASC 718 are a plus
Experience preparing full financial statements including cash flow under US GAAP
Experience with multi-entity accounting, intercompany elimination
ERP experience (NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct) and modern finance tools
Remote work experience with US leadership and auditors, excellent English communication

Responsibilities

Run the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and deliver a complete close on schedule
Prepare P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow under US GAAP for Controller review
Review journal entries and reconciliations; ensure accuracy before escalation
Maintain revenue recognition under ASC 606 and manage deferred revenue schedules
Perform multi-entity consolidation and intercompany eliminations
Prepare monthly/quarterly reporting packages with root-cause commentary
Coordinate audit deliverables and respond to auditor queries
