Job summary

MAVI seeks an experienced Controller to own the accounting function of a high-growth US company, working remotely from LATAM. This senior role requires building robust processes, ensuring audit readiness, and translating numbers for non-financial leaders.

You'll lead the monthly close, consolidate multiple entities, and manage external auditors and tax coordination with US firms. You will partner with CEOs and heads of finance to drive accurate reporting and strong controls.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience with team leadership.
• Own the close and financial statements independently.
• Strong command of US GAAP incl ASC 606, ASC 842; ASC 718 is a plus.
• Multi-entity accounting, consolidation, and intercompany eliminations.
• Experience leading an audit with external auditors end-to-end.
• ERP experience with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, MS Dynamics, QuickBooks, or Xero.
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets; Power BI or similar is a bonus.
• Senior accounting partner to exec leadership; communicate results clearly.
• Experience remote work with US-based leadership and auditors.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close with calendar and cycle time.
• Prepare P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow under US GAAP.
• Oversee general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets.
• Research and document technical positions on revenue, leases, equity.
• Own consolidation across group, intercompany, eliminations.
• Establish accounting policies and internal controls.
• Lead audit or review end-to-end with auditors.
• Coordinate US federal, state, local tax with external firms.
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and expenses.
• Lead ERP implementation and finance systems migration.
• Mentor accounting team and manage external partners.
