Job summary

MAVI is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to own accounting operations for the Philippine entities of a high-growth US company. This senior leadership role is hands-on, covering the close, local ledger, and Philippine statutory reporting, with BIR compliance and audits.

Reporting to US finance leadership, you will reconcile local requirements with US GAAP group reporting, design the close checklist, drive process improvements, and mentor the local team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in progressive accounting with ownership of close and reporting
• Strong fundamentals and judgment with working knowledge of PFRS; US GAAP reporting preferred
• Experience owning Philippine accounting operations incl. BIR compliance and local statutory reporting
• Demonstrated ownership of month-, quarter-, and year-end close independently
• Experience with multi-entity accounting, intercompany transactions, and foreign currency accounting
• History of building or rebuilding accounting processes and controls
• Ability to work with a lean team while doing hands-on work when needed
• Experience with external auditors, tax advisors, and local providers; overlap with US leadership a plus
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• CPA strongly preferred; CA/ACCA/CIMA also considered
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for Philippine entities with full ownership
• Own the local general ledger for accuracy, completeness, and explainability
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and reconciliations (PFRS and group reporting)
• Drive balance sheet integrity across cash, AR, AP, payroll, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets
• Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations, and foreign currency remeasurement
• Own statutory filings (BIR, SEC, government payroll obligations) and liaise with auditors
• Ensure alignment of local reporting with US GAAP group reporting and bridge
• Review significant entries for accuracy and completeness
• Develop and mentor accounting team members locally
• Serve as primary contact for external statutory audits and tax reviews
• Identify issues early and drive resolution; maintain local ownership of controls
• Establish accounting policies, close checklists, and internal controls
• Lead process improvement and automation in close cycles
• Support ERP implementations and chart-of-accounts design
• Collaborate with FP&A and US leadership on management reporting
