Job summary

MAVI partners with high-growth US businesses, embedding accounting professionals into their finance operations from the Philippines. We seek a Lead Accountant with strong US GAAP experience to take senior ownership of accounting for US-based clients in lean SME environments.

You will be the senior accounting voice on the client's books, partnering with US Controllers and leaders, driving the general ledger, and ensuring audit readiness with direct exposure to US finance environments.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of accounting experience with deep US GAAP expertise.
• Demonstrated ownership of a full close cycle and the financial statements independently.
• Experience reviewing, supervising, or mentoring other accountants.
• Strong technical judgment with ability to document defensible conclusions.
• Experience supporting or managing an audit including interaction with external auditors.
• Experience working with US clients or international stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle accounting under US GAAP from accrual to final statement.
• Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close with calendar ownership.
• Manage general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations and drive resolution of items.
• Prepare and finalize financial statements, reporting packages, and schedules; stand behind them.
• Own technical accounting treatment and document judgments (revenue recognition, accruals, capitalization).
• Review and mentor junior staff; set work standards and ensure quality control.
• Maintain accounting policies, controls, and close procedures; flag outdated designs.
• Own audit readiness, respond to auditor queries, and support tax advisers.
