Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be a Mac OS user.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proven leadership, ownership, or high-accountability experience in a previous role.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance after check-in and document details.
• Review denied claims, identify reasons, and assist with reprocessing.
• Review and process Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents and clear backlogs.
• Review outstanding balances and coordinate resolution steps.
• Support claims-related workflows for Cigna and VA.
• Assist with vendor payment coordination and ensure timely tasks.
• Monitor SOAP notes for accuracy and compliance.
• Track missed and canceled appointments and trends.
• Prepare operational/billing reports with insights and recommendations.
• Coordinate team communication and maintain task hygiene.
