Job summary

Go Lean Health is seeking a Virtual Medical Assistant to support a neurology facility remotely. You will verify patient insurance eligibility, process disability and ADA requests, manage FMLA forms, and handle medical records requests while maintaining strict confidentiality and accuracy.

You will communicate with patients by phone and secure online channels, document all encounters in the EHR, and support scheduling, data entry, and other administrative tasks to keep the facility running

Qualifications

• Experience as Virtual Medical Assistant or similar healthcare support.
• Experience verifying insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Familiarity with disability requests, ADA, FMLA, medical records processing.
• Experience using an EHR/EMR system.
• Strong telephone communication and patient service skills.
• Ability to create and document encounters accurately.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently.
• Reliable internet connection and quiet workspace.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance eligibility, coverage, benefits, and financial responsibility.
• Organize disability-related and ADA accommodation requests; route to provider/team.
• Receive, review, and organize FMLA forms and supporting documents; upload to patient record.
• Review, retrieve, and release medical records; document actions.
• Answer incoming calls and respond to patient questions; document messages and encounters.
• Create and update office, telephone, and administrative encounters in the EHR.
• Monitor queues, assist with scheduling, data entry, and other administrative tasks.
