Job summary

GoLean Health is seeking a Virtual Medical Assistant to support a neurology facility remotely. The role focuses on insurance verification, disability requests, FMLA documentation, and medical records requests while maintaining patient confidentiality and high accuracy.

You will interact with patients by phone, manage documentation, and ensure timely completion within standard workflows. This is a remote, 40-hours-per-week position supporting a US-based facility.

Qualifications

• Experience as Virtual Medical Assistant or similar healthcare support role.
• Experience verifying insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Familiarity with disability requests, ADA accommodations, FMLA forms, and medical records processing.
• Experience using electronic health record systems.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance eligibility, coverage and benefits; document results in the EHR.
• Organize disability-related and ADA accommodation requests; route to provider or team.
• Manage FMLA forms: receive, review, upload to patient chart and track deadlines.
• Receive and process medical records requests and authorizations; securely release records.
• Provide patient and telephone support; document messages and create encounters.
• Create and update EHR encounters; assign messages and tasks to providers.
