Qualifications

• Experience as a Virtual Medical Assistant or similar healthcare support role.
• Experience verifying insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Familiarity with disability requests, ADA, and FMLA processing.
• Experience using an electronic health record (EHR/EMR) system.
• Strong telephone communication and patient service skills.
• HIPAA knowledge and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
• Excellent English written and spoken communication.
• Ability to work independently with a remote setup.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance eligibility, coverage, and financial responsibility.
• Process disability, ADA accommodation, and FMLA forms and documentation.
• Receive and organize FMLA and disability-related documents.
• Handle medical records requests and secure release of records.
• Provide patient and telephone support and document encounters.
• Support EHR/EMR data entry and chart updates.
• Perform general administrative tasks and follow established workflows.
