About the role
The Human Resources Representative provides day-to-day human resources support to employees and management by administering HR programs and assisting with onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, leave administration, HRIS maintenance, and compliance. This position serves as a trusted resource for employees while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. The HR Representative is responsible for maintaining accurate employee records and processing personnel actions utilizing ADP Workforce Now and Deltek Costpoint.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and employment matters
- Respond to employee and management inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans (PIPs), coaching documentation, and separation documentation
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation
- Process new hire paperwork, including I-9s, E-Verify, and employment eligibility documentation
- Assist employees with benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, and Open Enrollment
- Administer leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, military leave, and other protected leaves
- Process personnel actions, including new hires, promotions, transfers, compensation changes, status changes, and separations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
About you
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
- 2–4 years of Human Resources experience, covering employee relations, onboarding/offboarding, benefits, leave administration, and HR operations
- Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now and Deltek Costpoint for HR and personnel administration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of U.S. federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, COBRA, I-9, E-Verify, and applicable leave requirements
- Experience with HRIS data management, personnel actions, HR reporting, employee records, benefits, and leave administration
- Excellent written and verbal English communication and customer-service skills
- Strong employee relations, interpersonal, and relationship-building capabilities
- Excellent organization, time management, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
