Who We’re Hiring For
A fast-growing, Philippine-based construction firm dedicated to delivering high-quality commercial and landscaping projects for the largest corporations in the Philippines. We are on a mission to build premium spaces where Filipino businesses and families thrive, revolutionizing the way projects are delivered on time, strictly under budget, and with uncompromising quality. As we scale our operations and take on larger developments, we need a proactive, proactive treasury lead who can build our finance operations from the ground up and advise our leadership on maintaining a highly profitable operation.
The Role
You will take full ownership of HR: hiring the right people, welcoming them in, keeping their records and compliance airtight, and resolving their concerns fairly. You will lead a team of HR personnel and work directly with executive leadership. If you want a role where you shape the policies, the systems, and the culture of a company from the ground up, and see the impact of your work on real projects every day, this is it.
What You’ll Do
- Payroll Management:Own the payroll process from start to finish. Consolidate and verify attendance, overtime, leaves, and deductions every cut-off, review the payroll computation, and release accurate payslips on schedule. Resolve payroll discrepancies quickly and trace each one to its root cause.
- Timekeeping & Attendance:Manage timekeeping for office and site employees. Monitor daily attendance, tardiness, absences, overtime, and rest days, and approve and reconcile time records with supervisors before payroll cut-off.
- Compensation & Benefits:Administer salary structures, allowances, overtime and holiday pay, 13th-month pay, and incentives such as project completion bonuses. Manage HMO enrollment, leave credits and conversions, and other benefits. Review compensation and benefits against the market and recommend adjustments.
- Statutory Contributions & Compliance:Compute, remit, and file SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and withholding tax on compensation on time, and keep employee government records current. Align HR and payroll practices with DOLE standards and the Labor Code as we formalize our systems.
- Lead the HR Team:Manage and develop the HR team. Assign work, set clear standards of accuracy and deadlines, review their output, and build their day-to-day capabilities.
- Recruitment & Onboarding:Run the hiring cycle from job posts and screening to interviews, offers, and pre-employment requirements. Onboard office and site hires so they are productive from day one.
- Employee Records & HRIS:Maintain complete, organized 201 files and a reliable employee database, with every contract, clearance, and government requirement on file and current.
- Employee Relations & Discipline:Be the first point of contact for employee concerns. Handle grievances and administrative cases fairly, with proper documentation, and elevate sensitive matters to leadership early.
- Site Workforce Support:Coordinate manpower needs with project engineers and site supervisors, and track project-based and regular employment contracts.
- Build Our HR Foundation:Draft and roll out the employee handbook, HR policies, and standard forms for leaves, attendance, performance reviews, and clearance.
- Accountability & Reliability:You take full responsibility for HR output. When issues arise, such as payroll errors, missing records, or recurring site manpower gaps, you focus on the root cause and put practical, long-term fixes in place.
- Team Leadership & Standards:You lead a team by example. You set clear, achievable expectations for accuracy and compliance, delegate well, give honest feedback, and train and develop your team.
- Discretion & Integrity:You handle confidential employee, salary, and case information with care, and you apply policies fairly and consistently, regardless of who is involved.
- Transparent Communication:You bridge the gap between site operations and the head office. You communicate clearly and respectfully with executive leadership, project engineers, supervisors, and employees, so everyone knows the rules, their rights, and what to expect.
- Steady & Proactive Execution:Construction is dynamic, with changing manpower needs and tight deadlines. You bring a calm, commercially sound approach and keep HR operations running smoothly without constant oversight.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience:4+ years of HR generalist or HR officer experience, with strong hands-on exposure to payroll, timekeeping, and compensation and benefits. At least 1 to 2 years in the Philippine construction, real estate, or other project-based industry is preferred.
- People Management:Experience supervising or leading a team is preferred.
- Education:Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Technical Competence:Practical understanding of the Labor Code of the Philippines, DOLE regulations, payroll computation, and SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, withholding tax, and 13th-month pay requirements, including employment contracts for project-based and regular workers.
- Collaborative Professionalism:You work seamlessly with both corporate leadership and site operations, communicate well in English and Filipino, and be always willing to roll up your sleeves to handle administrative execution when needed.
Nice to Have
- Construction Workforce Experience:Direct experience managing site workforce documentation, such as safety orientation records, project-based employment contracts, and contractor accreditation requirements.
The Offer
- Growth Potential:Build and lead a growing team as the company scales—this role grows as the company grows.
- Comprehensive Benefits:Standard HMO coverage, tax-free support allowances (e.g., rice, transportation), 13th-month pay, and generous paid time off.
