Job summary

MatchaTalent is partnering with a rapidly growing fintech to appoint a General Manager – Philippines in Taguig. The role will lead all business development and operations in the Philippines, acting as the local representative to the Board and regional leadership, driving growth, partnerships, stakeholder relationships, and market expansion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, law, or related field.
• Philippine national with strong knowledge of the market.
• Active regulatory network across SEC, BSP, CIC, and law enforcement (NBI/Cybercrime; PNP-ACG).
• 8–15 years of progressive fintech/financial services/banking experience.
• Experience in leadership, business development, government relations, partnerships, or strategic management.
• Strong understanding of Philippine fintech ecosystem.
• Proven ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and partners.
• English proficiency; Mandarin preferred for regional/global communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to drive growth in the Philippines.
• Lead business development, market expansion, and commercial initiatives.
• Build relationships with regulators, financial institutions, and partners.
• Represent the company at industry events, meetings with government, and strategic partnerships.
• Monitor fintech, digital finance, and financial services developments for opportunities.
• Identify new business opportunities and expansion initiatives.
• Collaborate with regional and global management to achieve strategic objectives.
• Oversee local operations and ensure strong organizational performance.
• Support regulatory, compliance, and governance activities with relevant teams.
• Provide market insights and strategic recommendations to the Board and leadership.
• Build and develop a strong local team as the business grows.
