Job summary

YSS Laboratories Co., Inc. seeks a licensed Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to lead maintenance and engineering activities.

You will implement preventive maintenance, support program development (RMP, SOP, CAPA), and assist the Engineering Manager in planning and execution across the department. You will supervise daily operations, coordinate permits and inspections, manage resources, and drive improvements while ensuring compliance with cGMP and government regulations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and effective implementation of the preventive maintenance program.
• Provide technical support to engineering personnel for programs including RMP, SOPs, and CAPA.

• Supervise daily engineering activities, preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and facility upkeep.
• Plan manpower and equipment, review requisitions, prepare POs and cost estimates, and coordinate upgrades/outsource services.
• Manage permits, licenses, and inspections and coordinate with other departments and external agencies.
• Evaluate staff performance, assist in hiring/training, update SOPs, and conduct staff meetings.

Job description

I. BASIC FUNCTIONS:

• Ensures the timely and effective implementation of the preventive maintenance program in accordance with established schedules.

• Provides technical support to engineering personnel in developing and implementing programs, including Risk Management Programs (RMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).

• Assists the Engineering Manager in developing departmental plans and ensuring their effective implementation.

II. SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensures adherence to cGMP, GDocP, GEP, company SOPs, safety protocols, and government regulations.

2. Supervises daily engineering activities, preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, utilities, and facility upkeep to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.

3. Plans manpower and equipment requirements, reviews purchase requisitions, prepares purchase orders and project cost estimates, recommends equipment upgrades, and coordinates outsourced services.

4. Manages permits, licenses, and government inspections while coordinating engineering projects and operational requirements with other departments and external agencies.

5. Evaluates employee performance, recommends hiring and training, reviews and updates SOPs, conducts staff meetings, and performs other duties as assigned by management.

III. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Licensed Mechanical Engineer or Electrical Engineer.

• At least five (5) years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

• Knowledgeable in mechanical and electrical engineering standards and practices.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency in prioritizing and addressing critical issues.

• Dynamic, analytical, decisive, and results-oriented.

• Proficient in computer applications and operations.
