Advance Food Concepts Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking an Engineering & Maintenance Manager to oversee production equipment, utilities, and facility systems. You will supervise daily maintenance, ensure reliability, and minimize downtime through preventive, predictive, and corrective actions.

This role emphasizes GMP/HACCP compliance, safety, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include project coordination, spare parts management, and collaboration with QA and Production.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Licensed engineer preferred, depending on regulations.
• 3–5 years of experience in engineering, maintenance, or facilities, preferably in food manufacturing.
• 1–2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, plant utilities, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• GMP, HACCP, food safety, and occupational safety standards knowledge.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Willing to work on shifting schedule and respond to equipment emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily engineering and maintenance activities for production equipment, machinery, utilities, and facility systems.

• Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate with Production and QA on maintenance to minimize disruptions.
• Oversee plant utilities and facility systems; monitor energy use and safety compliance.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering & Maintenance Operations

• Supervise daily engineering and maintenance activities for production equipment, machinery, utilities, and facility systems.

• Ensure the availability and reliability of equipment to support uninterrupted production.

• Monitor and prioritize preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and other equipment-related problems.

• Ensure timely response to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime.

• Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities, equipment history, and repairs.

2. Preventive Maintenance

• Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance schedules.

• Ensure that critical production equipment is regularly inspected, serviced, and calibrated.

• Analyze equipment breakdown trends and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.

• Coordinate with Production and QA departments regarding equipment maintenance schedules to minimize operational disruptions.

3. Utilities & Facility Management

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of plant utilities such as:

  • Electrical systems

  • Water supply and treatment systems

  • Air compressors

  • Boilers and steam systems

  • Refrigeration and cooling systems

  • HVAC systems

  • Wastewater treatment systems

  • Generators and other power systems

• Monitor utility consumption and identify opportunities for cost reduction and energy efficiency.

• Ensure that facility systems are maintained in safe and operational condition.

4. Food Manufacturing & Food Safety Compliance

• Ensure that engineering and maintenance activities comply with GMP, HACCP, sanitation, food safety, and company quality standards.

• Ensure that maintenance work does not compromise product safety or quality.

• Implement proper controls to prevent contamination during equipment repair and maintenance.

• Coordinate with QA and Production during equipment modification, installation, and maintenance activities.

• Support food safety audits and address engineering-related findings and corrective actions.

5. Engineering Projects

• Assist in the planning and execution of equipment installation, plant expansion, facility improvement, and engineering projects.

• Evaluate equipment specifications and technical requirements.

• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and service providers.

• Monitor project timelines, costs, quality, and compliance with safety requirements.

• Conduct commissioning and testing of newly installed equipment.

6. Team Supervision

• Supervise, coach, and develop Engineering/Maintenance personnel.

• Assign work schedules and maintenance activities to technicians and other engineering staff.

• Monitor employee performance, attendance, productivity, and compliance with company policies.

• Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance personnel.

• Promote a culture of safety, discipline, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

7. Spare Parts & Maintenance Materials

• Monitor inventory of critical spare parts, tools, lubricants, and maintenance supplies.

• Identify critical equipment parts and establish appropriate minimum stock levels.

• Coordinate with Purchasing and suppliers for the timely procurement of spare parts and technical services.

• Control maintenance expenses and ensure cost-effective use of materials.

8. Safety & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure that engineering and maintenance activities comply with occupational health and safety requirements.

• Conduct regular inspections of equipment, facilities, and engineering systems.

• Ensure proper implementation of lockout/tagout (LOTO) and other applicable safety procedures.

• Coordinate with the Safety and other relevant departments regarding engineering-related safety concerns.

• Ensure required permits, licenses, certifications, and inspections for applicable equipment and facilities are maintained.

9. Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve equipment efficiency, productivity, reliability, and energy consumption.

• Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring equipment failures.

• Recommend engineering solutions that can reduce downtime, maintenance costs, and operational losses.

• Support 5S, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Preferably graduate of Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field.

• Preferably a licensed engineer, depending on company and regulatory requirements.

• Preferably with At Least 3–5 years of experience in engineering, maintenance, or facilities, preferably in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.

• Preferably with At Least 1–2 years of supervisory experience is preferred.

• Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, plant utilities, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.

• Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety, and occupational safety standards.

• Strong leadership, problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills.

• Good communication and coordination skills.

• Willing to work on a shifting schedule and respond to equipment emergencies when required.
