Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in credit analysis, commercial lending, or risk assessment.
• Proficiency in financial statement analysis and credit risk assessment methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyse credit applications and loan requests from corporate and institutional clients
• Assess creditworthiness of borrowers by reviewing financial statements, cash flow projections, and credit histories
• Prepare comprehensive credit analysis reports and recommendations for approval or denial
• Monitor existing credit facilities and conduct periodic portfolio reviews to identify risks
• Conduct due diligence on prospective clients, including background checks and verification of financial information
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients to gather necessary information for credit assessments
• Prepare credit memorandums for credit committee reviews
• Track and report on credit performance metrics and portfolio trends
• Collaborate with legal, operations, and risk management to ensure compliance with policies
• Assist in development and improvement of credit procedures and risk frameworks

About the role

We are seeking a Credit Analyst to join FILOIL GAS and ENERGY COMPANY, INC. in Taguig City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our credit management function, directly supporting our banking and financial services operations within the energy sector. As a Credit Analyst, you will be instrumental in assessing credit risk, evaluating loan applications, and ensuring the integrity of our credit portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to develop expertise in credit analysis whilst contributing to sound financial decision-making across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyse credit applications and loan requests from corporate and institutional clients
• Assess creditworthiness of borrowers by reviewing financial statements, cash flow projections, and credit histories
• Prepare comprehensive credit analysis reports and recommendations for credit approval or denial decisions
• Monitor existing credit facilities and conduct periodic portfolio reviews to identify potential risks

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field
• Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in credit analysis, commercial lending, or risk assessment
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in financial statement analysis
• Excellent knowledge of credit assessment methodologies and risk evaluation techniques
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear, concise credit reports
• Attention to detail and ability to work accurately with complex financial data
• Knowledge of banking regulations and credit risk management principles
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Preferably, experience in the energy or oil and gas sector would be an advantage
• Professional certifications such as CFA or relevant banking certifications are desirable
