Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) seeks an Assistant Business Manager (ABM) to oversee branch operations, risk, and customer service in Manila. The role requires hands-on leadership, ensuring KYC compliance, balance accuracy, and timely reporting while driving client satisfaction and staff development.

The ABM will manage transactions, staff scheduling, and performance reviews, with accountability for audit readiness and regulatory adherence within the branch.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.
• 3–5 years of branch banking operations experience.
• Experience in people management is required.

Responsibilities

• Approves branch transactions within authority limits.
• Reviews OTC and auxiliary transactions (deposits, withdrawals, FX, remittances, etc.).
• Approves account openings and customer record updates.
• Ensures complete KYC and transaction documentation.
• Monitors time deposit maturities and conducts enhanced due diligence when needed.
• Ensures audit ratings and regulatory compliance.
• Conduces branch risk assessments and fixes control gaps.
• Submits regulatory reports (STRs, crime/loss reports).
• Manages end-to-end customer experience within the branch.
• Leads and supervises branch personnel; performance reviews.

Assistant Business Manager (ABM)

Responsibilities

Transaction Processing

• Approves branch transactions within authority limits and secures approval for transactions beyond scope
• Reviews and approves OTC and auxiliary transactions (deposits, withdrawals, FX, remittances, checkbook requests, etc.)
• Approves account openings and customer record updates
• Ensures complete KYC and transaction documentation
• Monitors time deposit maturities and conducts enhanced due diligence when needed

Operations, Control & Risk Management

• Ensures strong audit ratings and compliance with internal and regulatory requirements
• Conducts branch risk assessments and addresses control gaps
• Submits regulatory reports (e.g., STRs, crime/loss reports)
• Acts as custodian for cash‑in‑vault and accountable items
• Ensures accurate balancing, timely reconciliation, and proper safekeeping of branch records
• Monitors receivables, provisions for losses, and renewal of permits
• Oversees branch facilities, security, housekeeping, and FFE inventory

Customer Service

• Manages end‑to‑end customer experience within the branch
• Addresses inquiries, concerns, and complaints within prescribed TAT
• Ensures strong customer satisfaction scores
• Supports initiatives under the Bank’s consumer protection program

People Management

• Leads and supervises branch personnel; sets goals and provides continuous coaching
• Ensures staff training, certifications, and performance reviews
• Recommends promotions and manages disciplinary actions when necessary
• Oversees staff rotation, scheduling, and developmental opportunities

Other Tasks

• Performs additional functions that may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications
