Job summary

Medical Assurance Society NZ is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join the Innovation and Digital team in Wellington for a permanent, full-time role. You will provide expert support across our cloud environment and assist IT Helpdesk with escalated issues.

In this role you’ll manage Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID and Windows Server technologies, contribute to implementations and improvements, and help ensure secure, reliable technology for MAS members.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience supporting IT systems in an enterprise environment.
• Experience supporting endpoint and network hardware.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 technologies (SharePoint / Intune / Exchange / Entra).
• Experience with Entra ID or Active Directory and Windows Server environments.
• Experience working in a change-controlled environment.
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and independently.
• NCEA Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• Relevant industry qualifications or certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network issues.
• Manage escalated Helpdesk incidents and keep users informed.
• Identify root causes and recommend technology or process improvements.
• Administer systems and applications to maintain appropriate user access.
• Perform software updates, monthly patching and device maintenance.
• Support endpoint hardware, networks and computing infrastructure.
• Maintain accurate asset, system, user and process documentation.
• Contribute technical expertise to projects and wider initiatives.
• Provide occasional after-hours support when required.
