Job summary

Radius Care in Palmerston North is seeking a Registered Nurse for a fixed-term position from 2 November 2026 to 11 October 2027. The role is full-time (30 hours per week) on a rotating roster, may include weekends and public holidays.

You will gain experience in person-centred care, complete patient assessments and care plans, and monitor residents’ conditions. Responsibilities include administering medicines, wound management, and supporting families.

Qualifications

• Current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate is required.
• Computer literacy with concise reporting skills is expected.
• Strong people skills and empathy for residents and families are essential.
• Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient assessments and care plans.
• Provide exceptional care and monitor residents’ conditions and outcomes.
• Administer medicines and assist residents with daily activities.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documents.
• Educate and support residents’ families about care plans and medicine side-effects.

Location: Radius Peppertree, 107 Roberts Line, Kelvin Grove, Palmerston North

Hours of work: Full time, 30 hours per week, over a rotating roster (which may include weekends and public holidays).

Duration: 11 months, from 2nd November 2026 to 11th October 2027, to cover an employee who has gone on a period of leave.

About the role:

Gain valuable experience in person-centred care, and enhance your critical thinking skills. Complete patient assessments and care plans. Provide exceptional care, while evaluating outcomes for residents and their families. Monitor changes to residents’ conditions and behaviours. Administer medicines, and assist residents with daily activities.

Duties include:

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documents
• Educate and direct peers about possible side-effects of medicines
• Monitor residents and initiate appropriate treatment in an emergency
• Wound management
• Reassuring and educating residents’ families
