Job summary

Radius Care in Whangarei is seeking a Part-time Registered Nurse for a 4-month placement. You will perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and deliver person-centred care to residents on a 24/7 roster, including weekends and public holidays.

You will document records, monitor residents, administer medicines as directed, and support families. The role offers ongoing training, weekend/night shift allowances, and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Current NZ annual practising certificate required or eligible for registration
• Good computer literacy and concise reporting skills
• Strong people skills and empathy for residents and families
• Flexible to work rostered shifts, including weekends/public holidays
• 1+ years GN/RN experience in NZ preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documents
• Monitor residents’ conditions and respond to changes appropriately
• Assist with medication administration and daily activities
• Provide person-centred care and involve families in care planning
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure safety and quality of care

Skills

Location: Radius Rimu Park, 297 Kamo Rd, Whau Valley, Whangarei

Hours of work: Part time, approx. 19 hours per week, over a rotating 24/7 roster, including weekends and public holidays

Duration: 4 months, to cover an employee who has gone on a period of leave

About the role:

Gain valuable experience in person-centred care, and enhance your critical thinking skills. Complete patient assessments and care plans. Provide exceptional care, while evaluating outcomes for residents and their families. Monitor changes to residents’ conditions and behaviours. Administer medicines, and assist residents with daily activities.

Duties include:

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documents
• Educate and direct peers about possible side-effects of medicines
• Monitor residents and initiate appropriate treatment in an emergency
• Wound management
• Reassuring and educating residents’ families
