Job summary

Radius Care in Christchurch is seeking a Registered Nurse for fixed-term, full-time hours (30 per week) on a rotating 24/7 roster. Roles run through two durations: 7 months and 11 months, covering morning, afternoon, and night shifts to support residents and families.

You will conduct assessments, care plans, monitor conditions, administer medicines, and assist with daily activities, within a supportive team and environment.

Qualifications

• Current NZ Annual Practising Certificate.
• Computer literacy with concise reporting skills.
• Flexibility to work rostered shifts including weekends.
• 1+ years of experience as a registered nurse in NZ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documents.
• Educate peers about potential medicine side-effects.
• Monitor residents and initiate appropriate treatment in emergencies.

Location:

Radius St Allisa, 46 Main South Rd, Sockburn, Christchurch

Hours of work:

Fixed Term Full Time, 30 hours per week, over a rotating 24/7 roster (including weekends and public holidays), to cover employees who have gone on a period of leave. Must be able to work across morning, afternoon, and night shifts.

Role 1 Duration

7 months (4th Dec 2026 to 5th July 2027)

Role 2 Duration

11 months (14th Dec 2026 to 11th Nov 2027)

About the role:

Gain valuable experience in person-centred care, and enhance your critical thinking skills. Complete patient assessments and care plans. Provide exceptional care, while evaluating outcomes for residents and their families. Monitor changes to residents’ conditions and behaviours. Administer medicines, and assist residents with daily activities.

Duties include:

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documents
• Educate and direct peers about possible side-effects of medicines
• Monitor residents and initiate appropriate treatment in an emergency
• Wound management
• Reassuring and educating residents’ families
