Job summary

Radius Care in Dunedin is seeking casual Registered Nurses to deliver person-centred care to residents. You will complete assessments, participate in care planning, administer medicines, and support families in a busy aged-care setting.

You should hold a current NZ Annual Practising Certificate, be computer literate, and adapt to rostered shifts. New graduates are welcome, and Radius Care offers training, staff discounts, and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Current NZ Annual Practising Certificate.
• Proficient computer literacy and concise reporting skills.
• Strong people skills and empathy for residents and families.
• Flexibility to work rostered shifts.
• 1+ years RN experience in NZ preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documentation.
• Educate residents and families about medications and side-effects.
• Monitor residents and initiate appropriate treatment in emergencies.
• Wound management and the care of wounds.
• Provide person-centred care and support families.

Hours of work:Casual, as and when required

Note: Radius Care cannot support work visas/visa changes for casual RN roles. Visa-holders must have a current visa with open work rights and preferably at least 6 months left until expiry.

About the role:

Gain valuable experience in person-centred care, and enhance your critical thinking skills. Complete patient assessments and care plans. Provide exceptional care, while evaluating outcomes for residents and their families. Monitor changes to residents’ conditions and behaviours. Administer medicines, and assist residents with daily activities.

Duties include:

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documents

• Educate and direct peers about possible side-effects of medicines

• Monitor residents and initiate appropriate treatment in an emergency

• Wound management

• Reassuring and educating residents’ families
