Job summary

Radius Care in New Plymouth is seeking a dedicated caregiver for an 11-month fixed-term contract. You will provide exceptional care to residents under a Registered Nurse, build meaningful relationships with residents and families, and help implement individual care plans with full training.

Key duties include personal care, supporting independence, timely task completion, updating records, and shift handovers. 30 hours per week on a rotating 24/7 roster, including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 3 (or equivalent) and NZ caregiving experience required.
• NZ Aged care experience preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills; flexibility to work rostered shifts.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking personal cares, while encouraging residents to make decisions that promote independence.
• Promptly completing delegated tasks in a timely manner.
• Responding quickly to resident requests, providing them with useful, relevant information.
• Maintaining and updating resident healthcare records.
• Assisting with handover of residents at shift changes.

Location

Radius Heatherlea, 139 Vivian St, New Plymouth

Fixed Term

11 months, to cover an employee who has gone on a period of leave.

Hours of work

30 hours per week, over a rotating 24/7 roster, including weekends and public holidays.

Pay rate

Subject to completed caregiving qualifications

Note: Radius Care cannot currently support work visas/visa changes for Fixed Term contracts. Visa-holders must have a current visa with open work rights. Visa expiry date should fall outside the fixed term period.

About the role

Provide exceptional care to our residents under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families. Work closely with a team to implement our individual care plans. Full training provided.

Duties include
