Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau in Whangārei's maternity services is seeking an organised maternity administration specialist. In this varied role you will greet families and support the clinical team with bookings, referrals and clinical data.

You will work with midwives and other health professionals, delivering accurate administration and a high standard of service in a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-focused environment with a commitment to excellent service.
• Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel at an intermediate level.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including a strong telephone manner.
• Good organisational, problem-solving and prioritisation abilities in a busy setting.
• Understanding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and privacy/confidentiality principles in health care.
• Experience using Health New Zealand patient management systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide a welcoming, professional experience for families accessing maternity care.
• Support the day-to-day running of the service with administration tasks.
• Manage referrals, bookings and antenatal clinic administration.
• Collaborate with midwives, medical staff and Lead Maternity Carers to deliver timely administration.
