Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora - Southern invites applications for the Primary Maternity Care Team Administrator based in Queenstown. The role provides flexible administrative support to the Maternity Service, with data entry, filing and coordination across team members to ensure patient requirements are met.

You will work with midwives, nurses and clinical staff, ensuring timely administration and confidential handling of information.

Qualifications

• At least two years previous administration experience.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with professionals.
• Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Adaptable, flexible and solution focused.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate appointments and treatments with clinical teams while meeting patient requirements.
• Provide warm, respectful, professional contact for patients, whānau and visitors.
• Keep reception and waiting areas welcoming and safe, escalate issues as needed.
• Provide confidential admin support to the Midwife Manager.
• Receive and process referrals via electronic systems, email and mail within agreed timeframes.
• Prepare agendas and take minutes as directed by the Midwife Manager; communicate information clearly.
• Register newborn details on the National Health Identifier system within service expectations.
