Job summary

Waterloo School in Wellington invites applications for a Learning Support Coordinator (LSC) to help empower inclusive learning for Years 1–8. The role is fully released and involves working with kaiako and ākonga where needed, while aligning with the school vision and professional learning commitments.

The successful candidate will build strong relationships with students, whānau and colleagues, bring a caring disposition, and lead inclusive teaching with diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Careful, caring disposition with the ability to build relationships with students, whānau and staff.
• Experience across Years 0–6 and knowledge of the NZ Curriculum are essential.
• Proven ability to support learners with diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate learning support for learners with diverse needs.
• Collaborate with kaiako and ākonga and other professionals to implement inclusive practices.
• Work closely with the Leadership Team to strengthen teaching programmes.

We are seeking a passionate Learning Support Coordinator (LSC) to join our team from the beginning of Term 1, 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for our kura as it will support us in making a meaningful difference for learners, teachers, and whānau, while strengthening inclusive practices.

The successful applicant will have a caring disposition and be able to build strong relationships with students, whānau and colleagues. They will look to build on the strengths of students and believe that every child can achieve our school vision of Empowering active learners . Experience across Y0-6, knowledge of the NZ Curriculum and effective teaching that provides quality learning programmes for all students is essential, along with a sense of fun! Proven experience in supporting learners with diverse learning needs is also required.

The LSC role is fully released, with the flexibility to work alongside kaiako and ākonga where needed. Proven skills in leading, influencing, and collaborating with other professionals and colleagues is key to success. The successful candidate will work closely with our Leadership Team.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Primary Teachers’ Collective Agreement.
