Job summary

Andersons Bay School in Dunedin invites applications for an experienced Learning Support Coordinator to join our team in 2027. You will support learners to participate, progress and experience success with trauma-informed practice, inclusive education, and collaboration across staff and whānau.

The role focuses on coordinating targeted interventions for students with additional needs, coaching staff, and using assessment data to inform interventions, while upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi

English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts

We are seeking an experienced, collaborative and student-focused Learning Support Coordinator (LSC) to join our team in 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher who has a strong understanding of inclusive education and trauma informed practice. Our LSC will ensure all learners are supported to participate, progress and experience success.

We are looking for an educator who:

• has a sound knowledge of effective, evidence-based learning support practices;


• can build staff capability through coaching, modelling and professional learning;


• uses assessment and other relevant data to inform interventions and support;


• can effectively coordinate targeted interventions and support for learners with additional needs;


• builds strong, respectful relationships with students, staff and whānau;


• works effectively with the Ministry of Education, RTLB and other specialist agencies;


• demonstrates culturally responsive practice and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi


• is able to manage complex situations with empathy and kindness.
