Job summary

Halsey Drive School in Lynfield, Auckland, is seeking an experienced Learning Support Coordinator to lead inclusive practice and coordinate targeted interventions across the school.

You will work closely with senior leaders, teachers, learning assistants, whānau and external agencies to build staff capability, monitor learner progress and ensure every student participates and experiences success. This is a permanent, full‑time appointment commencing Term 1, 2027.

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to inclusive education and equitable outcomes.
• Sound knowledge of effective learning support practices.
• Ability to coach staff and support professional learning.
• Uses assessment data to inform interventions.
• Collaborates with the Ministry of Education, RTLB and other agencies.
• Demonstrates culturally responsive practice and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Halsey Drive School is seeking an experienced, collaborative and highly relational educator to join our team as our Learning Support Coordinator (LSC) .

This key leadership role will strengthen inclusive practice across our school, ensuring all learners are supported to participate, progress and experience success. Working alongside senior leaders, teachers, learning assistants, whānau and external agencies, the LSC will coordinate learning support and build staff capability to meet the diverse learning, wellbeing and behavioural needs of our students.

We are looking for an educator who:

• has a strong commitment to inclusive education and equitable outcomes;
• has sound knowledge of effective, evidence-based learning support practices;
• can build staff capability through coaching, modelling and professional learning;
• uses assessment and other relevant data to inform interventions and support;
• can effectively coordinate targeted interventions, transitions and support for learners with additional needs;
• builds strong, respectful relationships with students, staff and whānau;
• works effectively with the Ministry of Education, RTLB and other specialist agencies; and
• demonstrates culturally responsive practice and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
