Job summary

We are seeking an experienced, fully registered teacher to join our team as our Learning Support Coordinator (LSC).

The LSC will play an important role in making this vision a reality for learners who require additional learning support.

Working closely with our SENCO, school leadership, teachers, students, whānau and external agencies, you will help ensure the right support is identified and provided at the right time.

We are looking for someone who can:

• Build strong, safe and trusting relationships with teachers, students and whānau
• Identify patterns and emerging areas of learning support need across the school
• Triage referrals and provide practical, evidence-informed strategies that enable teachers to support learners effectively
• Build teacher capability in inclusive practice
• Coordinate support with specialists and external agencies
• Prepare strong referrals and applications to access specialist support and funding.
• Develop and maintain effective systems that ensure learning support is well organised, responsive and sustainable.
• Advocate for students while keeping their strengths, identity, voice and aspirations at the centre of decision-making.

About you

You will be an experienced teacher who is relational, organised, proactive and solutions-focused. You will have a strong understanding of inclusive education and additional learning needs, along with the confidence to work collaboratively with staff, whānau and professionals.

Most importantly, you will be someone who believes that inclusive education is everyone's responsibility and who enjoys working alongside teachers to build their confidence and capability.
