Job summary

Hedgehope School is seeking a passionate Learning Support Coordinator to strengthen learning support across our small rural kura of approximately 55 learners. You will identify and intervene early, build staff capability, engage whānau, and coordinate with RTLB and ministry agencies to develop inclusive school-wide systems.

Registered NZ teacher with a current practising certificate and relevant teaching qualification is required, along with proven experience supporting learners with learning

Qualifications

• New Zealand registered teacher with a current full NZ practising certificate and relevant teaching qualification.
• Experience supporting learners with learning needs and building capability across staff.
• Ability to engage confidently at leadership level and foster culturally responsive practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and strengthen learning support across Hedgehope School's small rural kura (Years 1–8).
• Identify and intervene early for learners, coordinate with RTLB and other agencies.
• Develop consistent, inclusive school-wide learning support systems and engage whānau.

Hedgehope School is seeking a passionate, collaborative and learner-focused Learning Support Coordinator (LSC) to help lead and strengthen learning support across our small rural kura of approximately 55 learners.

This is an opportunity to have real impact through early identification and intervention, targeted learner support, staff capability building, whānau engagement, individual learning plans and coordination with RTLB, Ministry and other agencies. You will also contribute to developing consistent, inclusive, school-wide learning support systems.

Applicants must be a New Zealand registered teacher with a current full New Zealand practising certificate and relevant teaching qualification, with demonstrated experience supporting learners with learning needs. You will bring strong relationship-building skills, the ability to engage confidently at leadership level, influence practice across a school, provide culturally responsive support that upholds Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and meet the professional standards relevant to your position.
