Job summary

Palmerston North Intermediate in Manawatu/Whanganui is establishing a new Learning Support Coordinator role for 2027. This full‑time position focuses on inclusive education for Years 7–8 learners.

You will partner with our SENCO, teachers, whānau and outside agencies to identify barriers to learning, coordinate learning support plans, and ensure timely, practical interventions across PNINS. We are excited to be establishing a new Learning Support Coordinator position at PNINS for 2027.

This is an opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education to help shape a role that will make a real difference for our Year 7 and 8 learners. We want every young person to feel known, included and supported to participate, progress and experience success.

The role

As our first Learning Support Coordinator, you will work closely with our SENCO to strengthen school-wide learning support systems and coordinate support for students across PNINS.

You will work with students, teachers, whānau, learning support staff and outside agencies to identify barriers to learning, ensure students can access the right support as early as possible, and find practical ways forward.
